The day of statistical anomaly for AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli

- AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli became the second and third player to register three hundreds in IPL. Only Chris Gayle has more centuries in IPL (five).

- AB de Villiers took just 43 balls to reach his century - the fifth fastest IPL hundred of all time.
- Kohli became the first batsman to score three hundreds in a single edition of IPL. Chris Gayle (two in 2011) is the only other batsman to score more than one in a season.

- The partnership of 229 between Kohli and de Villiers is the highest stand for any wicket in 20-overs cricket. The previous highest was an unbeaten 215 by the same pair against Mumbai Indians last season.
- This is the sixth partnership of 200 or more in 20-overs cricket and Kohli has now been involved in three of them. No other pair apart from Kohli and de Villiers has more than one stand of 200 or more.
- Kohli and de Villiers have now been involved in six century partnerships in 46 innings in IPL, joint-most by a pair along with Gayle and Kohli who also have six in 49 innings together.
- AB de Villiers (when on 21) became the third overseas player to hit 3000 runs in IPL after Chris Gayle and David Warner.
- Kohli has now been involved in 13 hundred-plus stands - the most by anyone in IPL. He overtakes Gayle's record of 12.
- Kohli now has scored 677 runs this IPL in 11 innings - the most by an Indian player in a season in IPL. The record was previously held by Robin Uthappa, who scored 660 runs for Kolkata Knight Riders in 2014 edition in 16 innings.
- Kohli's 677 runs this season is the most by a skipper in a season in IPL. He breaks his own record of 634 runs in 2013. Sachin Tendulkar is the only other player to score more than 600 runs as captain in a season (618 runs in 2010).
- 12 sixes hit by de Villiers is the joint-fifth in an IPL innings. Gayle's 17 against Pune Warriors India in 2013 is the highest.

- Chris Gayle has now been dismissed for single figure scores in his last eight innings in T20s. Never before he had more than three consecutive single figure scores in 20-over cricket.
- 4 for 11 by Chris Jordan is the second-best figures for an Englishman in IPL, after Dimitri Mascarenhas's 5 for 25 for Kings XI Punjab against Pune Warriors in 2012.
