“The BCCI will have its AGM in Mumbai on September 21. It will be held as per the existing constitution,” Thakur told mediapersons in New Delhi after the working committee meeting. However, it has been learnt, the board cannot hold an AGM without the prior approval of the Supreme Court-appointed Lodha Panel’s approval. And if BCCI goes ahead and holds the meeting without the clearance of the Lodha panel, it can be termed as null and void.
Under this approved budget, the board has allocated funds, proposed for the ground preparation, ground equipment, indoor academy for Meghalaya and Nagaland. In a media release, the board also mentioned, it has approved the schedule for the upcoming 2016-17 domestic season.
“The honorary secretary of the BCCI, Ajay Shirke briefed the members on his meeting with the Justice Lodha Committee and also informed the house that BCCI has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court,” the release added.
